The set up of the original I'm A Speedrunner tournament was very different from how they are set out today. The first most obvious difference was that there were five people in each group instead of four, and therefore three people went through from each group instead of two.
Then Round 2, would consist of 4 separate speedruns with 3 people in each of them, chosen randomly. The top 2 in each of these 4 speedruns would proceed to the Quarter Finals, with the other being eliminated.
The 8 remaining would go head to head in standard knockouts, once again, randomly drawn. Then the winners would pass forward to the Semi Finals, which were 2 groups of 2 people. The winners of these would go into the Grand Final, to decide who would be declared winner of I'm A Speedrunner 1.
