Match Types refer to the different type of speedrun matches in which a specific set of rules are in play that makes the match unique. Normally, a Multi-Single Speedrun will use simple objective competitors need to complete in order to win a race. However, as more matches were done, new match types emerged which changed the dynamic on how objectives are chosen and accomplished.

Below is a listing of known match types as well as their history. These match types are not to be confused with tournament specific ones such as Shaggin' Wagon or Triple Threat Matches.

List of Match TypesEdit

BingoEdit

A bingo match works by choosing a list of objectives from a bingo card created for the game being played. Unlike a normal match, each competitor can choose a unique route and doesn't have to do the same objectives. In order to win a Bingo match, the objectives on the bingo card need to form a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally and all objectives chosen need to be completed. The chosen objectives don't need to be completed in a specific order as long as all of them are completed in the end.

Scavenger HuntEdit

A Scavenger Hunt match involves competitors collecting items in a game, with each item being assigned a point value. The competitor with the most points earned by collecting items wins the match. A time limit or destination is optional for this match.

ISGP RaceEdit

An ISGP Race is a variant of the Bingo match type in which competitors need to still complete a series of objectives chosen from a pre-made board. However, competitors do not have to complete objectives that form a row across the board, they only need to do one per column instead. Otherwise, it is similar to a Bingo match.

FUTCHEdit

FUTCH is a specific match type which works similar to a Scavenger Hunt race where competitors earn points for doing certain actions. Unlike a Scavenger Hunt, competitors can also lose points if they perform certain actions. The one who gets the most points wins the match with an optional time limit or destination.
